The EVX-S24 is a digital two way radio from Motorola. Built to IP67 the EVX-S24 has a full Ingres protection against dust, whilst also being fully safeguarded against submersion in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Military Standards (MIL-STD-810 C/D/E/F/G) ensures the radios reliability in the workplace, having been put through tests for a variety of working environments the EVX-S24 passed all ensuring its durability when in use.

Many safety features are pre-installed to the EVX-S24, benefiting from such functions as Lone Worker and VOX Voice Activation. Lone worker enables a pre-set timer to be places onto the radio, whereby if there is no use within the time frame then an alert will be sent to other radios within the group warning them of the inactivity of the user within their fleet. VOX is a function that allows for hands free use of the radio, ensuring that communications can still be made even if the operatives hands are not free at the point of contact.

The EVX-S24 comes as standard with a 2300mAh Li-Ion battery, this allowing for up to 12 hours of usage in digital mode. An 8-character alphanumeric display is present on the front of the radio, this alongside having 4 programmable buttons both on the front and the side of the device for customization to the operatives needs. Alongside the battery an antenna and charger is supplied as standard, with the radio coming in both colours of yellow and black.

IP67 Waterproof & Dust Proof

The Motorola EVX-S24 is waterproof and can be submersed up to 1m for a period of up to 3 minutes. That means this radio is ideal for use in swimming pool complexes and other humid environments. The Motorola EVX-S24 is also ingress / dust proof.

Analogue or Digital

You can choose the Motorola EVX-S24 to operate in analogue-only mode or in DMR digital mode, and you can mix and match between analogue and digital (on different channels).

Direct Mode

The EVX-S24 has "direct mode" which means that you can utilise TDMA to create two voice channels using just one 12.5KHz frequency. This can be done with or without a repeater. This enables transmit interrupt or two simultaneous radio conversations (with some clever programming).

Enhanced Audio Quality

When operating the radio in digital mode, the EVX-S24 offers the AMBE+2™ vocoder for enhanced voice quality. This means much clearer audio and better overall radio use experience.

Site Search

Move between multiple sites seamlessly by using the Site Search functionality on your EVX-S24 radio. Manually or automatically initiate Site Search to identify the signal of the closest site with the strongest signal strength. The EVX-S24 portable will dynamically change its pre-programmed home site to the site with the strongest signal in range. Great for operations with multiple locations or buildings with multiple floors.

The top of the Motorola EVX-S24 has a combined volume control with power on/off switch. In the middle, there's a microphone/speaker/accessory connector and also an SMA antenna connector.

On the front of the Motorola EVX-S24 is a very clear display (see the display diagram below), a mode button and a set of up/down buttons. Below the buttons is the radio's microphone. Then on the side panel is the large push-to-talk button, a programmable function button and a USB socket for charging and programming.

Battery

The EVX-S24 takes the FNB-V142LI battery.

Belt Clip

The EVX-S24 takes the CLIP-27 belt clip.

Charger

PA-57U USB charger is supplied, but you can optionally upgrade to a CD-65 charging pod for convenience.

Antenna

The EVX-S24 can be supplied with a Stubby or Whip antenna.

Vertex Standard Warranty

All Vertex Standard radios and accessories are supplied with at least a 12 month manufacturers parts and labour warranty. The warranty is directly with Vertex Standard but all warranty claims must be placed via Radiotronics.

Ofcom Two Way Radio Licence Options

All licensed radios in the UK require a licence issued by Ofcom. But that shouldn't put you off. Radiotronics UK can make the application on your behalf and remove all of the paperwork and or red tape for you. Read more about two way radio licensing.
