Motorola DP4801e

Motorola DP4801e is Motorola's highest-end digital two way radio. Any feature that is possible on a digital two-way radio is included in on the DP4801e.

Like almost all licensed two way radios, the DP4801e is available in two models, VHF which covers between 136 MHz and 174MHz and UHF which covers a massive 403MHz to 512MHz.

Motorola DP4801e is a true system radio, having built-in Capacity Plus compatibility, when used with a Capacity Plus activated repeater, the DP4801e can programmed to work on the Cap+ system with no additional licensing.

What makes the Motorola DP4801e different from the Motorola DP4800e is the DP4801e has built-in GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. GPS means team leaders can have transparency in the whereabouts of two-way radios (with the use of dispatch software or control room software). Bluetooth means D4801e is compatible with wireless accessories including Motorola's operations critical wireless accessories and Motorola's EP900w headset (no other brand Bluetooth accessories). Wi-Fi allows over the air programming (OTAP) which allows the DP4801e to be conveniently programmed using MOTOTRBO Radio Management without needing a programming cable.

Built to IP68 standards the DP4801e has a full ingress protection against dust, this whilst also being able to be fully submerged under water for long periods of time. MIL-STD-810 C/D/E/F/G means that the DP4801e is rugged and reliable, put through the Motorola Accelerated Life Test this radio will last in some of the harshest working environments.

Due to the nature of environment the DP4801e can work in, the radio has an amass of safety features. VOX Voice Activation allows for the Motorola DP4801e to be used hands free, whilst Transmit Interrupt stops any current conversations in order to broadcast an important message, whether this be for an emergency situation or simply to relay new instructions to the fleet. Lone worker helps to ensure the safety of workers, should a radio be inactive for a set period of time then an alarm will be raised to all other members of the fleet.

The Inclusion of GPS allows for the Man Down feature as a software download. Man down is a function that when a radio is laid on its side for a certain period of time will sound a beacon to all other radios, signalling its GPS to the base station so that the injured party can be found and helped quickly should a serious injury occur.
