Hytera PD795Ex ATEX Digital Radio
Hytera PD795-Ex is an ATEX approved digital to way radio from Hytera. The PD795-Ex has a high resolution LCD display and full keypad allowing DTMF telephone calls directly from the radio (via repeater). On this page you will find a comprehensive description of the Hytera PD795Ex and a full list of it's features.
The PD795Ex is the display & keypad version. If you do not need the LCD display and keypad, see the Hytera PD715ex which is almost the same radio with no keypad or display for ease of use.

Hytera PD795-Ex Description
The 1024 channel capacity allows you to have hundreds of channels and configurations in just one radio. In analogue mode you can select 12.5, 20 or 25 channel spacing meaning it can work with any analogue system. Mixed mode scanning is a great feature that allows you to scan both analogue and digital programmed channels. The PD795Ex is ingress-resistant and IP67 compliant, meaning the radio can be submersed in up to 1m of water for up to 30 minutes without causing any damage. ATEX approved to Ex ib IIC T4 (Ex ib D21 T4 IP6X) standards and is ideal for use in dangerous areas.
The Hytera PD795Ex has GPS factory-installed. That means, with the help of Hytera Smart Dispatch control room dispatch software, keep track of your radios and your staff. GPS enables the user to get help faster if the user is stranded. As long as the radio is in range, the dispatcher or supervisor can see the location of the radio and the team member.
The PPD795Ex has built-in voice call function and text messaging. This allows the use to send text messages, free type of stored messages, to fellow team members. It also supports remote enable/disable, remote monitor and call alert.
Security functions that the PD795Ex supports are basic and AES encryption (upgrade fee) in digital mode, and traditional scrambler in analogue mode.

Two Way Radio GPS
Know where your team are, all of the time!
GPS (global positioning system) is a mechanism which a device can use a number of in-range satellites to triangulate it's position and transmit that position back to the repeater or base station. This enables the supervisor to more effectively manage team members by knowing their current location.
For more information on GPS, download this Motorola GPS information sheet.
GPS is designed for outdoor tracking. See "Indoor tracking" for indoor solutions.

GPS outdoor tracking is a standard feature of the Hytera PD795Ex.
Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA)
TDMA is a technology that allows several users to share the same frequency channel by dividing the signal into different time slots. With DMR this is two time slots to every 12.5KHz frequency channel allocation.
Before DMR every 12.5KHz frequency allocation could carry just one broadcast of RF traffic. Now with DMR 12.5KHz bandwidth allows two voice channels.
See the video for an explanation on how this works.

Psudo-Trunk
Hytera have a unique system called Psudo Trunk that, instead of restricting radios to their allocated DMR time slot, allows a radio to choose any available time slot to make a call. This enables trunking-like behaviour across both DMR time slots. This also allows transmit interrupt accross multiple voice channels / talk groups.
Psudo-Trunking works with or without a repeater.
Two Way Radio Transmit Interrupt
Transmit interrupt ensures that critical message gets through.
Transmit interrupt allows for a priority message to be sent to all radios within your network. Interrupting all ongoing conversations, this feature is commonly used in emergency situations or as a way to offer new instructions to workers.
When purchasing two way radios you can choose to only have this feature programmed to radios that will be used by senior members of staff. This minimizes the potential for it to be abused by workers, meaning that should it ever need to be used all members of staff will be aware of its importance.

Transmit Interrupt is a standard feature of the Hytera PD795Ex.
MPT1327 Trunking
MPT1327 is an analogue trunking soution that makes use of multiple repeaters and creates "channel pools". How it works is that when a radio needs to make a call (or transmission) the MPT1327 controller allocates a free repeater channel to the radio. When the call ends, th e channel is allocated back to the available channel pool. The MPT1327 solution is now deprecated in favour of more modern digital solutions such as DMR or dPMR Tier II and Tier III.
There are stil a very many MPT1327 solutions still installed and that's why some new radios have the ability to operate on an MPT1327 system. Of course when operating on MPT1327, even a digital radio will have to operate in analogue mode as MPT1327 voice traffic is analogue. Usually MPT1327 functionality is an optional extra by way of having an MPT1327 option board fitted in the radio, or a software activation.
Hytera PD795Ex has MPT1327 built in and is available free of charge.
Lone Worker
Lone Worker is a feature found on many two way radios where it's able to send a pre-determined signal, for example a distress call or alarm, to other radios in range, Lone Worker requires some type of interaction from the radio user after a period of radio inactivity.
An example of this is the radio can be set to require the radio operator to interact with his or her radio once every 30 minutes. If they fail to do so, their radio will start making an audible sound. If there is still no interaction with his or her radio within 1 further minute, a alarm will sound to other team members to tell them a team member is not responding to Lone Worker.
The supervisor can then dispatch another team member to the non-response team member's last known location to offer assistance.

Lone Worker is built-in to the Hytera PD795Ex.
Two Way Radio Man Down
Know instantly if a team member falls...
Man Down provides remote monitoring of workers by detecting if their radio is upright, or if the radio is on it's side assumes there may be a problem. Radios which support Man Down are fitted with an accelerometer (or similar device) which allows them to detect the orientation of the radio.
If somebody slips or falls, they are likely to be on their side, Man Down will automatically detect this, activate and transmit an alert to call for help from a supervisor or other team members.
This works is almost the same way as your smart phone which knows if you have it positioned portrait mode or landscape mode. See this video to see how man down works.

Man Down is built-in to the Hytera PD795Ex.
